DIGITAL LINE INSTRUCTIONS

InterActive has two different types of dialup phone lines. While the newer Digital lines offer faster login speeds, there is a slight configuration change needed on your part. Directions are listed below:

Windows 95

Changing the phone number:

  1. Double click on My Computer and then Dial-up Networking.

  2. Right click on your connection (typically INS).

  3. Click on Properties.

  4. Change the phone number your local Digital number (Not sure, check here to find out).

  5. Press the OK Button.


If you have automated login:
After you have properly completed these steps, our system will extract your login name and password from the 'Connect to' box.

  • Click on the Start Button, Programs, Accessories, and Dial-up Scripting Tool.

  • On the Left Highlight the name of your connection (typically INS).

  • On the Right under Script delete the text (It should look something like this C:\Program Files\Accessories\Ins.scp).

  • Press Apply, then Close Button.

  • Go ahead and log in!


If you manually login:

There is Nothing to do. But you’ll notice that the prompts are Different!!

Windows 3.1

  1. Click here to download the Windows 3.1 patch.exe.

  2. If your browser asks you what to do with the file, click save file.

  3. Then where to save the patch to. We suggest saving it to directory like c:\temp or c:\ .

  4. Disconnect your internet connection and make sure that the program
    TCPMAN is not running. We recommend restarting Windows to be sure.

  5. Execute the file by going to Program Manager and clicking on Run, Browse,
    and select the file name depending on where you choose to save it in step 2.

  6. As the patch runs it will search for and replace files. It will pause and prompt you
    for whether you wish to replace the files. We suggest pressing the YES key.

  7. To change phone numbers, go to the Internet! group and click on Configure.
    Select the phone number you desire and proceed as you did when first installing the kit.

Mac

If your running Config PPP

  1. Go to Control Panel and Select Config PPP

  2. Click On Config

  3. Change the Phone Number to 456-1136 or 768-7509 or 227-0388

  4. Click on Authentication And Fill out Login and Password

  5. Click OK

  6. Click Connect Script

  7. Delete All Values and <CR>’s (All Should Read OUT)

  8. Click OK

  9. Click Done

  10. Click Open to Connect to INS


If your running Free PPP

  1. Click Free PPP setup

  2. Click on the Accounts Tab

  3. Click on Edit

  4. Change the Phone Number to 456-1136 or 768-7509 or 227-0388

  5. Find Connect: And Change to Directly

  6. Check to make sure User Name and Password are Correct

  7. Click OK

  8. Click Connect to connect to INS
